Songwriter-for-hire

Organic Valley Oat Creamers (2025)

My friend Kelly Myers and I wrote and performed a series of six commercial spots for Organic Valley. They were very fun and we were very adorable.

“Start the Show” for The Trivia Galaxy (2021)

My sibling Kelly McCandless and I wrote an opening number for Movie Musicals Theme Night, performed by host David Gallic. It rocked.

Dr. Shutterbug intro (2022)

Okay I hired myself for this one. It’s the theme song for a Breath of the Wild streaming series. But it’s great and I’d do it again!

Some unreleased bangers

When I haven’t gotten a song tracked in a studio yet, you might find it on Youtube. Here are a few sneak peeks:

Streaming releases

We don’t really have liner notes anymore with streaming-only music, and that makes me sad. Here’s the low-down on my personal projects:

Wham! Christmas (2024)

My sibling Kelly and I have sung this silly version of Wham!’s “Last Christmas” for years, so we finally decided to record and unleash it upon the masses. You’re welcome.

The Way Through (2024)

A short song about patience. Wrote it for myself, trying to channel Fred Rogers, and released it after the election in the hopes it might be a comforting reminder.

I’m a Catch (2024)

Written with Kelly Myers after I had a little rejection. I shouted, "I'm a catch!" and Kelly said, "That's the first line of a song." So we wrote this! Lots of people loved it!

When Summer Comes (2024)

Self-produced this banger about longing for the warm months. Features friends and family singing backup. I listened to this song more than any other last year.

Stick Around (2024)

My producer friend Jonathan Leon and I were looking for something to collaborate on. He heard the first verse I’d written for this and did the production and orchestration from there.

The Park Ranger (2023)

A concept album: enter the woods, leave the path, get lost, be rescued by the park ranger. All within ten minutes.

Such Good Friends (2022)

I was in a production of Company as Kathy. I wrote this from her perspective and boy did I find a lot to relate to. Released on opening night. It’s also an absolute jam.

Carry My Heart Over the Waves (2021)

Written and recorded in the great lockdown of 2020. Themes of waiting, of distance, of memory. I played all the instruments, and my family sang with me.

In Party We Trust (2017)

Made this completely out of loops in GarageBand. I was really proud of the name “E Partybus Unum”, so that became the naming convention. Weird but rad.

Bedroom Covers (2016)

Recorded in a bedroom in my grandma’s house on a little Yeti microphone. Sometimes you can hear the birds through the open window.

Original songs playlist

I’ve shared some songs that haven’t been properly recorded yet! You can find a lot of them here. There’s some great stuff.

All In One Night (2019-present)

Every year I live-read A Christmas Carol and play 13 original songs. It’s like a musical where the book is the book. We’ve raised over $5,000 for charity!

I’d love it if you bought some music on Bandcamp!

It’s hard to make a living as an indie musician these days.
Buying from an artist is the best way to directly support their art.
